Helsinki University Hospital and Helsinki and Uusimaa Hospital District (HUCH) major Construction projects (2010-ongoing)

Delfoi Oy is a long-term advisor and consultant for the Helsinki and Uusimaa Hospital District (HUCH) major development project office, already since 2006. Delfoi’s assignments are mainly focused on the preparation of investment projects, e.g. providing exact, validated data to the dimensioning of hospital and testing design solutions efficiency with simulations and logistics planning and conceptualization.
Capacity planning and simulations take into consideration the different options and volume scenarios for patient care in different hospitals. The most significant projects include the Meilahti Triangle Hospital, Meilahti Bridge Hospital, Meilahti Oak Hospital (Eye Hospital), and HUSLAB’s new Laboratory Building.

Northern Ostrobothnia Hospital District, Future Hospital OUH 2030 Reforming Programme (2013- ongoing)

Delfoi has been advisor to Northern Ostrobothnia Hospital District in the Future hospital OUH 2030 reform programme since 2013. Delfoi has played a key role in the development of the care and logistics processes of the hospital campus, development and evaluation of spatial solutions, dimensioning of functions and facilities and evaluation of the productivity impacts of different development scenarios. The assignments have included description and analysis of care and logistics processes (current state and future), evaluation of productivity improvement potential, customer segmentation of emergency, outpatient, surgery and inpatient wards and capacity requirement simulation of personnel and facilities of all the main hospital care functions.

Tampere University Hospital: Reforming Programme (2020-ongoing)

The final phase of the Tampere University Hospital reform and investment programme is estimated to continue for 10 years. The objective is to replace a significant share of the Tampere University Hospital campus area’s old properties with new construction. The reforming programme total budget (phase 1 and 2) is estimated to be over 1,4 billion euros. Delfoi is the process and logistics consultant and advisor in the programme, with a 10-year frame agreement. Delfoi´s Healthcare Consulting team has a central role in advising and guiding the programme and the planning process. Both the care and logistics processes are developed and modelled on several levels of detail.
Delfoi´s Healthcare Consulting Team has specified the productivity improvement potential (productivity target) for the project in early planning phase.
