Pintos – A digital leap toward more efficient production with Delfoi Planner
Founded in 1956, Pintos Oy is a Finnish specialist in the manufacturing of steel reinforcements and wire mesh. The company serves Nordic builders and precast factories, guided by its promise: “We help you build.” Strong delivery capability, deep expertise, and continuous development have remained key success factors even in the digital era.
TOP 3 benefits
Skilled implementation – Delfoi’s team managed the process and integration excellently.
Visual and user-friendly – Delfoi Planner’s interface is intuitive and clear.
Integrability and scalability – Delfoi Planner integrates seamlessly between ERP and production lines, enabling efficient production control.
A determined shift to intelligent production control
Operating across three factories, Pintos uses a hybrid production model that combines make-to-stock and make-to-order approaches. As the number of product variants increased and production control became more complex, Pintos recognized the need for a modern, flexible, and scalable planning system. The solution of choice was Delfoi Planner, enabling efficient production control and continuous development based on data.
Growing complexity called for a new solution
Before adopting Delfoi Planner, Pintos relied heavily on its ERP system and manual planning. Work orders were scheduled in order of arrival without considering capacity, and overall control depended largely on the personal experience of foremen.
As product variation increased, customer-specific customization expanded, and multi-plant coordination became more demanding, existing practices were no longer sufficient. The need for a centralized production planning solution was clear.
“We were reaching the limits of how much we could manage production changes and product variations without a modern planning system. Transferring capacity between plants wasn’t possible, because the tools simply weren’t capable of it”, explains Jaakko Reunanen, Development Manager at Pintos Oy.

Delfoi Planner brought control and transparency
Pintos launched a comprehensive ICT architecture renewal, placing Delfoi Planner at the core of its production control. The ERP system was also replaced, and Delfoi Planner was integrated into the new setup, including a MES layer for queue management and production line control.
“We evaluated the new ERP system thoroughly and over a long period. Even then, most ERP providers recommended Delfoi Planner as the production planning solution. Through our network, we explored customer references and were convinced. Delfoi Planner’s existing features covered nearly everything we needed. The few specific requirements were implemented with minimal development. This was important for us in terms of both a smooth deployment and future development. The Delfoi project team demonstrated strong expertise throughout the process and received praise from other system vendors involved. Integrations worked as planned”, says Jaakko Reunanen.
Centralized planning and high delivery reliability as key benefits
Delfoi Planner enabled a new operating model in which production planning was centralized under a dedicated specialist role. Foremen no longer had to plan while managing day-to-day operations. Delivery reliability — Pintos’ most important customer promise — has remained exceptionally high.

“Without Planner, centralization wouldn’t have been possible. Now we can manage all our plants centrally, utilize capacity efficiently, and gain a clear overview of the entire operation. Our delivery reliability consistently exceeds 95 percent. In the best case, we’ve reached 98 percent annually. It’s a key and important metric for us”, Jaakko Reunanen adds.
Looking ahead – ready for growth and development
Pintos is building its future business and production in a customer-oriented, efficient, and flexible way—now with a stronger digital foundation. Delfoi Planner has not only brought clarity to the current situation but also provided a platform for future development.
“We now have transparency, data, and control in our hands. Next, we aim to optimize capacity, improve production visibility, and take full advantage of the system’s potential”, summarizes Jaakko Reunanen.
